There’s absolutely no denying that people living in West Virginia love mobile homes. The statistics don’t lie and with over 16% of the people in the state choosing manufactured homes as their primary dwellings, it’s obvious that they see the value in a dwelling like this. In fact, West Virginia rates 4th highest in terms of number of residents choosing mobile homes.
As is the case when a person makes any move they need to consider their insurance needs. If someone is going from renting a mobile home to owing one they are likely already familiar with the concept of insurance for their belongings. They will still obviously need this coverage but in addition, they’ll also need protection for their home itself.

There are several different types of coverage that can be included in a mobile homeowner’s insurance policy in West Virginia. These may include:
•Emergency Transit. This isn’t included in every homeowner’s insurance policy so it’s best to inquire about it before finalizing the purchase of the policy. If the mobile home is going to be placed in an area where it may be susceptible to a raging wildfire, a flood or a mudslide, it’s a good idea to have this coverage in the policy. One of the most appealing features of a mobile home is that it can be moved during a crisis. This simply applies to those circumstances.
•Theft. Obviously this type of coverage offers protection in the event items such as electronics or jewelry are taken during a break and enter. It also applies to circumstances that involve the theft of cash, or credit cards.
Every person who owns a mobile home must make a personal decision about what insurance they feel is necessary for them. It’s important to remember that they need to feel comfortable in the knowledge that their home is protected at the level they feel is appropriate, not the level set forth by anyone else.
